Dr. Sharon Malone on Women’s Health and How to Protect Yourself

Here’s the quote that led me to watch this entire interview:

Question: What is one piece of advice you would give to women about their health?

Dr. Sharon: I would tell them “No one is coming to save you.”

Women have only been part of clinical studies in the U.S. since 1993. !!!

That’s only 32 years.

That means we are being prescribed medications, lifestyle changes, tests, et cetera that have been studied in MEN ONLY.

That means the medical community knows little to nothing about women’s health, prevention and diagnostic care.

And currently, funding has been cut for future study in a variety of areas in the National Institutes of Health — and almost totally gutted for women’s health studies. So we will be in the dark for some time to come.

No one is coming to save us.

Unless WE make our voices heard. We are 51% of the U.S. population, and 60% of the voting population. There is strength in numbers.

Men and those who identify as male — if you have a woman in your life that you say you love and support, YOU are part of this movement to support women / female-identifying persons in owning their health and healthcare.
